top five books I really need to read in 2020

2019 was probably one of the biggest book-buying years for me. I can't tell you how much I bought but it was definitely over 30, but it was the year of only buying books I'm actually interested in. Normally per year, I read around 40 books, and 2019 was no exception to that. The problem was, I wasn't reading the books I bought, so this is the year I read books I actually own. Here is a list (hehehe whenever I see 'a list' I think of red white and royal blue) of books I reeaaallly need to get to in 2020.

5. THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO

I started this (by started I mean read the first four pages), and I really liked the writing, so I know I'm going to love it. The reason why I haven't read it is that I haven't been in the mood to read historical fictions. But I'm sure sometime this year I will be in the mood to read it.

This story follows this journalist who got mysteriously chosen to write the biography for this extremely famous actress, Evelyn Hugo. She is basically Marilyn Monroe. Evelyn is pretty well known for having seven husbands, but people didn't really know why she had so many husbands. So this story follows Evelyn through her long life in the spotlight. There is also queer representation which I'm excited about that :)

4. THE GUINEVERE DECEPTION

The Guinevere Deception (Camelot Rising, #1)This book is Kiersten White's latest release and I'm verrry excited to read it. I got it for Christmas from my aunt, and I've been excited about it ever since. I LOOVVEDDDDD and I darken, it as just so amazing. And I darken is the first book in a series, and so is this, I have verrry high expectations. And I darken was a historical fiction that reads a lot like a fantasy, so the fact that she is writing a fantasy based on history is sooo exciting. The And I darken ratings were 3.8, and that's around what this has too, so I'm so excited (I keep on saying excited oops). I'm so *cough* enthused? Anyways it's about this Princess named Guinevere who is sent to marry and protect this king, but the thing is, no one knows who she is. DUN DUN DUUUUNNN. Anyways, I'm just so.... enthusiastic.

3. LITTLE WOMEN

Image result for little women bookTHIS IS THE YEAR I READ MORE CLASSICS. Yes, I haven't read little women, and I am quite ashamed of myself. There are even people in my year group who don't read, and they have read little women like c'mon, I need to get a reading together. Apparently to be a reader I need to read books written in the 1800s, like pride and prejudice and little women. So I'm here, I'm doing the deed. My goal this year is to read 5 classics, and I've heard 'little women' is good so here I am. I know practically nothing, all I know is that it is set after the civil war (and all I know about the civil war is captain America so we are off to a great start). But seriously, I'm excited, because I heard it's a nice read.

2. SCYTHE

Alright so I started this book but then stopped and I don't really know why. I really liked the start so I am definitely going to continue, I want to finish this whole series though because I heard it just gets better, I'm really looking forward to it :))) This is probably one of the most basic books tube books so I really should read it soon. I feel left out of the hype so I am here and I'm going to read it soon! I haven't read a dystopian in a while, probably since the whole divergent, hunger games craze. But I'm excited to continue on with this book :)

Related image1. I, Claudius

Alright so this is one of my dad's favourite books, and I promised him I would read it. It's actually quite goods so far, but it's so dense. This book is about Claudius, one of the emperors of Rome, but he wasn't supposed to be. Claudius was disabled and he had a stutter, he was shunned from the rest of society and was neglected by the rest of his successors. But when all of them had been killed or murdered, he was the only one left.

Well, that's how my dad described it anyways. I'm going to try to fight through it. Please believe in me and wish me luck.

Alrighty! Well, that's the end of this post, this time next year I'm probably going to be doing an update where I tell you whether I actually ended up reading these five books if I don't... you get a cookie
